Atlantic Towing operates 7 purpose built ASD tugs dedicated to servicing LNG terminals at Saint John, Canada and at Port Fortin, Trinidad. These operations are conducted through joint venture companies with international partners. We are contracted to service both of these terminals on a long term basis and have customized training programs and operational procedures specific to each operation.
A large focus for our Port Services Business is in providing dedicated escort and berthing services for Oil Terminals in the ports where we operate. We work closely and in some cases in an integrated fashion with local oil spill response agencies to ensure the highest level of preparation and responsiveness to mitigate any risk to the environment. A commitment to continuous improvement defines our business culture at Atlantic Towing and we have employed our six sigma trained green belts to develop fuel optimization programs that allow us to offer our customers the lowest possible cost of tug services.
Single Buoy Mooring
Atlantic Towing has provided towage support at Single Buoy Moorings since 1961, and typically has a tug continuously assisting VLCC tankers while they discharge their cargoes for periods in excess of 36-48 hours at a time. As one of the largest deep water ports in the Western Hemisphere, Canaport in Saint John, New Brunswick sees some of the largest ships come to unload their cargoes year round through extreme weather and tides. Atlantic Towing takes pride in everything we do, including our vessel maintenance program, which ensures our vessels are always ready to work and never interrupted by a breakdown.
